How can I tell if my dryer vent needs cleaning? There are several signs that can indicate that your dryer is in need of a professional cleaning… 1) Clothes take longer to dry. Most dryers take 40-45 minutes to completely dry a full load. 2) You may notice that the clothes are hotter than normal when you remove them from the dryer. 3) The flapper door on the outside vent is not opening. 4) Lint is building up on both sides of the lint clean out screen. How often should my dryer be professionally cleaned? Lint Cleaner recommends that the average family should get their dryer cleaned once a year. Is the white vinyl vent hose a fire hazard? Yes…we recommend that both the white vinyl and foil type vent duct line be replaced immediately. Lint Cleaner can install either a metal flex vent duct line or a rigid metal vent duct line. How long does the cleaning take and is there a mess? We can generally complete a full dryer cleaning in one to two hours, our vacuum system is attached to your dryer duct and all the lint is drawn into our vacuum. The vacuum we use is designed specifically for cleaning dryers and is equipped with a HEPA air filtration system.
